Peruri, a leading state-owned enterprise, has partnered with the Nutrition Study Program at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (Unsika) to tackle the pressing issue of stunting in the community. This collaboration focuses on the development and distribution of nutritious snacks specifically designed to combat stunting among children. The partnership leverages the expertise of Unsika’s Nutrition Study Program in industrial and culinary nutrition to create innovative, affordable, and culturally appropriate food solutions. These snacks are enriched with essential nutrients to support the growth and development of children in vulnerable populations.
The program officially launched with a distribution event held in Karawang, where representatives from Peruri and Unsika introduced the initiative to the local community. During the event, nutritionists from Unsika conducted educational sessions on the importance of balanced nutrition and how these snacks can play a role in improving children’s health.
Dr. Al Mukhlas Fikri, Head of the Nutrition Study Program at Unsika, emphasized the importance of such collaborations: “This partnership aligns with our mission to apply nutrition science in addressing real-world challenges. By working with Peruri, we can make a meaningful impact on reducing stunting and improving public health.” The collaboration is expected to continue with further research and development initiatives, aiming to scale up production and reach more communities in need. This marks a significant step in leveraging academic and industrial partnerships to address public health issues effectively.
